Formation Bible Study is a Bible study application operated by Berean Defense LLC, a company based in the United States. When this policy says "Formation Bible Study," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to Berean Defense LLC and the Formation Bible Study application at formationbible.com.
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information collected through the Formation Bible Study app, website, and related services. By using Formation Bible Study, you agree to the practices described here.
What We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you use the app.
Information You Provide
Account Information
Your name and email address when you join the waitlist or create an account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers.
Payment Information
Billing information for paid plans. We do not store your full card number — payments are processed by Stripe, which handles all sensitive billing data on our behalf.
Study Content
Notes, highlights, bookmarks, and study plans you create within the app. This content is yours — we store it to provide the service and never use it for advertising.
Communications
If you contact us by email, we retain your message to respond and improve our service. We won't share it with third parties except as necessary to answer your question.

Authenticate your account, sync your study content, process billing, and deliver app features.
Improve Formation Bible Study
Aggregate, anonymized usage data helps us understand which features help people study better and which we should improve.
Send Important Notices
Account confirmations, billing receipts, security alerts, and product updates that affect your use of Formation Bible Study. You may opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
Maintain Security
Detect fraud, prevent abuse, investigate suspicious activity, and protect the Formation Bible Study community.
Comply with Legal Obligations
Respond to lawful requests from government authorities, enforce our Terms of Service, and resolve disputes.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (such as billing records, which may be kept for up to 7 years for tax purposes).

Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
TLS Encryption
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
Encrypted at Rest
Your data is stored in encrypted databases managed by Supabase.
Secure Authentication
Passwords are hashed. OAuth login options (Google, Apple) never expose your password to us.
Limited Access
Only authorized team members can access user data, and only when necessary.
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to privacy@formation.app.
Your Rights & Choices
You have meaningful control over your information. Regardless of where you live, we honor these rights for all Formation Bible Study users.
Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Update or correct inaccurate information in your account settings or by contacting us.
Deletion
Delete your account and associated personal data. We'll process this within 30 days.
Portability
Export your study notes, highlights, and bookmarks in a standard format.
Opt-Out of Emails
Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@formation.app. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
Children's Privacy
Formation Bible Study is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@formation.app and we will delete that information promptly.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use Formation Bible Study with verifiable parental or guardian consent.
Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or with a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of Formation Bible Study after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
